Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book and pay?
Matwork: all bookings are made through our booking system, Punchpass. Simply create your account, purchase your pass then book yourself into a Matwork class.
Studio Apparatus: before venturing into the Studio Apparatus classes you must first complete the Intro to Studio Apparatus (1x private session). This allows us to help you understand how the equipment works as well as giving us the time to discuss your movement goals and create your personal program. Simply create your Punchpass account, purchase the Intro to Studio Apparatus pack and we will contact you to book in your session. Once you've completed your Intro you can select your preferred membership type and book into any of our Studio Apparatus classes.
Private Pilates: please email carly@anikopilates.com.au to arrange your session.
I can't make it to my class, how do I cancel my booking?
You will need to log into your Punchpass account to cancel your booking. Please note, we have a 12 hour cancellation policy for all classes including private sessions. If you cancel with more than 12 hours notice your pass will be credited to your Punchpass account and if you cancel within the 12 hour period your pass will be forfeited.
If you cancel your session and receive a credit, that session needs to be made up before your weekly membership cycle expires. Class credits don't rollover week to week.
I'm going on holidays so won't be able to attend classes. What do I do?
You'll need to email carly@anikopilates.com.au with the dates that you'd like your membership paused. This must be done before your weekly membership cycle renews as we cannot pause memberships mid-cycle.
What do I need to bring?
Grip socks (compulsory for the Studio Apparatus classes and can be purchased in-studio for $20.00)
Water bottle
Small hand towel
What do I wear?
Please ensure there's no zippers or metal hardware on your clothing as this damages the equipment. We recommend wearing clothing you feel comfortable exercising in but also doesn't restrict your movement.
How many classes per week should I aim for?
Ideally, 2-3 classes per week but it depends on your schedule and budget. Consistency is key though, which is why our passes/memberships require you to attend a minimum of one class per week.
This is my first matwork class with Aniko Pilates, what can I expect?
Ultimately, you can expect to stretch and strengthen with control. We are passionate about Joseph Pilates' original method so you won't be going through 20+ reps of each exercise, doing lunges or endless pulses until fatigue. We still promise a full body workout though. Since our classes are small (no more than 6 people) we're able to provide variations of each exercise for every person in the class. So while it could be considered a group fitness class, we don't expect that everyone will be able to do the same thing.
Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before your first class.
I'm pregnant, what class would you recommend that I join?
Our Matwork classes aren't suitable for pregnancy so we recommend attending a Studio Apparatus class instead. That way you can work through your own custom program and move at your own pace.
I've heard Pilates is good for physical rehab. Can I join in if I have an injury?
Pilates is great for managing injuries but we highly recommend attending a 1:1 session first. That way we can get to know more about you and your movement goals and provide a recommendation on classes, whether it's Matwork or Studio Apparatus.
Can I bring the kids with me?
Aniko Pilates is a space for our community to focus solely on themselves without distraction so we do not allow children in the studio.
I'd like to find out more information. Who can I contact?
